Recently I have been wearing red lipstick a lot, probably more than my nude lipstick. The red combination I usually wear is the Barry M lip liner in Red 3 with the Topshop lipstick in Hazard, which is what I am wearing in these images. But when I am feeling adventurous or more autumnal I use the Topshop lip liner in Deception with the MAC lipstick Diva.
Red is a key colour for this autumn winter season and I think that wearing red lipstick is an easy way to make an outfit more on trend, or interesting and it goes well with most clothing colours.
I have very pale skin, and I love the way that the bold red looks on my skin especially when I have very minimal makeup because it makes you look like you have actually put effort into your outfit styling. (Also distracts from the dark eye-bags or messy hair.)

These are the top five makeup products that I can’t live without and would honestly recommend to anyone and everyone, so I thought I would attempt to do so on my blog.
The first product is “They’re Real! Mascara by Benefit” in black, it makes my eyelashes look a lot longer and sometimes more voluminous.
Next is my NYX blending brush, I guess it is like any other blending brush but it is my favourite one and I use it in every eyeshadow look I do.
This is my favourite makeup product that I know I will buy again and again, the Viva Glam II Satin Lipstick by Mac. The colour really compliments my skin tone and it goes with every makeup look.
Every look needs a bit of glow and the Mary Loumanizer highlight by The Balm. It is pearl white and it blends easily. You can build it up for a blinding glow or use a little for a subtle natural glow.
Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Conceler is basically everyone’s concelar, and I use it in the shade one fair. The reason I began using this about 3 to 4 years ago is because most brands lightest concealers were too dark for me, and this was one of the only ones that suited my pale skin complexion, and since then I haven’t found one I like better.
An extra favourite thing is my CK2 perfume from Calvin Klein, I don’t really know how to describe the smell but it is very nice and I wear it nearly everyday.
In my group of friends I am known as the one who can wear any shade of bold lipstick and be able to pull it off. Therefore I thought I would share my current favourites in “bold lipstick” season autumn winter with swatches of them.
On the left, is Diva by Mac, it is my favourite red shade for Autumn Winter. It is a classic matte burgundy red, that you could glam up any outfit for a night out.
Next along is Stone by Mac, which is a greyish taupe brown toned matte lipstick. This colour can look completely different from one person to another but it is still a good one – give it a try.
The third one in is Vintage from the Liquid Suede lipsticks by NYX. This has to be my number one favourite as it goes with nearly every outfit, it is a dark plum with mauve undertones and I recommend you also invest in a lipliner so it doesn’t bleed outside your lip line.
On the right is Mehr by Mac, it is one of their best sellers – so you know it looks good on all skin tones. It is a dark rosy pink matt shade that I wear all year round as the colour looks like a darker version of “your lips but better” on me.
During Autumn Winter it is important to also look after your lips as they get dry very easily from the cold weather, the heating and wearing too many matte lipsticks. To do this I apply my Molten Brown Lip Vitamin Saver when ever I can, and before doing my makeup I use my Lush lip scrub to exfoliate my lips.
Stay happy 💋
